RCMP tall leather dress boots - this is something that is almost impossible to find. This pair came from the estate of a retired RCMP officer. The boots have a stamp on the interior instep that appears to read Lefebvre Manufacturing. 1971. This is interesting because prior to 1999 Hartt Shoe and Boot held the contract for these RCMP boots. When the company closed in 1999 Alberta Boot Company took over the contract. The design of the boots dates to the Boer War. The Canadian Calvary Regiment was being shipped over and Lord Strathcona decided to outfit the troops with a boot like this (and he paid the cost). The RCMP later used the design and the boot became known is some circles as the RCMP Strathcona. The quality of leather and overall construction is amazing. I was hoping they would fit me but at 9 1/2F they are just a bit small. There are no laces but they do come with a nice set of Austin Abbott spring loaded boot forms.
