Left to right: 1. large shield pin with 4 lapel pin studs on back with four clutch style clasps - looks like a navy emblem 2.Royal Canadian air cadets 5 yr pin in case 3. Navy Marine 100 yr centennial pewter pin 4. ruptured duck collar device gold tone 5. ruptured duck collar device - this is an honorable discharge pin originally designed for members leaving military service to be able to wear to signify their status when applying for discharge benefits - it has since become a permanent hardware device with no expiry date - the term ruptured duck evolved from a translation of a quote by a famous Hollywood actress (Hedy Lamar) on her flight to escape Germany. The term was banned in 1944 by Army Chief of Staff George Marshall and all documents referencing it were destroyed. It wasn't until 50yrs later that the ban was lifted and the full story of the "ruptured duck" came to light. And now you know the rest of the story. 6. mystery object - very neat design, well made - possibly part of a larger pin - it would look great if a pinback were attached to the back - kind of 1 of a kind
